Berwick upon Tweed

the construction of Tweed Dock began in 1873, and was formally inaugurated in October 1876. Remarkably, it has largely retained its original design since its opening, except for the removal of the dock gates in 1993. This modification was undertaken to widen the dock entrance, resulting in an enhanced capacity for vessels with a maximum beam of 16.0 meters.

Berwick is a rural town, and the Port is strategically located equidistant between the Rivers Forth and Tyne. Given its geographical position, the Port primarily handles cargo associated with the agricultural industry.
