Bressay Marina

Bressay Island, situated just half a mile across the harbour, offers a serene contrast to the bustling atmosphere of Lerwick. The marina at the Voe of Leiraness provides a sheltered visitor berth that's easily accessible. Bressay Island is a paradise for hill and coastal walkers, with plenty of opportunities for scenic exploration.

For those looking for a more secluded anchorage, you can head to the north of the island to Aith Voe.

To the east of Bressay lies the National Nature Reserve island of Noss, which offers a daytime anchorage at Nesti Voe. Arriving at Noss by boat presents one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences you can find. The mile-long sandstone cliffs have eroded over time, providing countless nesting ledges. During the peak of the breeding season, the cacophonous chorus of around 150,000 birds and chicks creates an unforgettable scene, though it's accompanied by the distinctive aroma of guano that stains the cliffs white!
