Shell Island

Shell Island has a rich history connected to ships and trade, with the estuary serving as the main route for goods imported into the area. Up to a hundred boats can moor here, and there's a waiting list for entry. Two concrete slipways are available for boat launches. About a mile from the entrance, at the south end of Shell Island, St. Patrick's Causeway provides an ideal fishing reef for anglers. The bay is particularly suitable for yachtsmen, as Abersoch, Pwllheli, Portmadoc, Barmouth, and Aberdovey are all within a few hours of sailing.
