Environmentally-Friendly Bilge Water Filtration

BilgeAway, however, goes a step further by rendering hydrocarbons non-reactive. This means the hydrocarbons cannot harm the environment for their entire lifespan. Usage and Capacity
BilgeAway is designed for standard bilge water contamination levels and has a 10-inch filter with a maximum capacity of 0.45 litres of hydrocarbons. If this limit is exceeded, hydrocarbons will pass through the filter untreated. Therefore, it is not intended to handle major hydrocarbon leaks, which should be addressed separately. The filter cartridge should be replaced after any significant contamination incident.

Tested and Reliable
The BilgeAway filter has been extensively tested with canal, river, and ocean waters to ensure it does not become blocked. However, if the bilge area contains a significant amount of debris, sediment, or biomass, blockages may occur. To prevent this, the bilge pump should be placed in an area free from large debris or where large quantities of debris are unlikely to collect.
